This area was used for the deposition of refuse, probably by the residents of the nearby roomblock.

Abandoned when occupation of this area ended.

Postabandonment Process

Midden was covered with aeolian and alluvial sediments.

Dating of Midden

This 50-cm-thick midden contains both late Pueblo II and Pueblo III sherds. The presence of Mesa Verde Corrugated and Pueblo III White Painted sherds indicates that this refuse was deposited after A.D. 1100.
