General Location

Talus slope at the south end of the site.

Specific Location

Just south of the roomblock in Architectural Block 3200, between Structure 3201 and retaining wall.

Selection Criteria

Encountered during excavations to determine whether the roomblock in this architectural block was a bi-wall structure.

Use

This areas was used for the deposition of refuse, probably by the residents of the adjacent roomblock.

Abandonment

Abandoned when occupation of this area ended.

Postabandonment Process

Covered with alluvial and colluvial deposits.

Dating of Midden

Sherds from both the Pueblo II and Pueblo III periods were found in this midden. Presence of Mesa Verde Corrugated and Pueblo III White Painted in this midden and the midden below it indicate that this refuse was deposited sometime after A.D. 1100.
