Selection Criteria

Refuse encountered during excavations to expose a segment of the outside face of the north wall of this roomblock.

Use

Area was used for the deposition of refuse, probably by the residents of the nearby roomblock

Abandonment

Abandoned when occupation of this area ended

Postabandonment Process

Covered by naturally deposited sediment

Dating of Midden

This 6-to-26-cm-thick midden contains Mesa Verde Black-on-white pottery, which leads to the inference that this refuse was deposited sometime after A.D. 1180.
