General Topographic Description

The site is located on table land about 240 m east of Alkali Creek and about 20 m east of the eastern rim of Alkali canyon. It is situated in old-growth pinyon and juniper woodland displaying aeolian loess soils. Some small order drainages flow south-southeast through the area into an unamed eastern tributary to Alkali Canyon.

Perennial Water Source(s)

McElmo Creek, 5000 m to the south; but it is likely the small spring just southeast of the Larson property was at least semi-perennial as was parts of Alkali Creek.

Intermittent

Alkali Creek, 240 m to the west.
