This surface appears to have been constructed in association with structure walls and extramural walls, for leveling of bedrock, and/or anchoring to bedrock.

Varies from a thin layer of grayish red to reddish yellow clay loam applied directly to bedrock, to a 40-cm layer of light brown sandy loam that rested on bedrock.

Bedrock--was either naturally exposed at the beginning of occupation, or was intentionally cleared of sediment during occupation.
