Patrick Cruz, a member of Ohkay Owingeh, is currently pursuing a Ph’D in Anthropology with an Archaeology focus at the University of Colorado at Boulder. His research interests have been focused on Southwest archaeology, and more specifically, the PIII Great Pueblo Migration out of the Four Corners, the post Great Pueblo Migration period in the Northern Rio Grande, identity, Tewa language, village and community formation, indigenous archaeology, and phenomenology. His recent graduate work was conducted on the Cuyamungue site at Pojoaque Pueblo, and his current dissertation research focuses on a site near Ohkay Owingeh called Phiogeh. Previously, he has 20 years of experience both working in the archaeology and museum fields such as at Bandelier National Monument, the New Mexico History Museum, and the Center of Southwest Studies, Fort Lewis College.
