Winston Hurst has been actively engaged in the archaeology of the Four Corners region since 1973. During those decades, he led numerous survey and excavation projects, held a curatorship at the Edge of the Cedars State Park Museum and conducted research into various aspects of northern San Juan archaeology and history including ancient Basketmaker/Puebloan communities, ceramics and roads; Navajo migration and settlement; Anglo-American history, and application of LiDAR technology to identification of ancient integrative and farming landscape features.
