Gary S. Roybal is a tribal council member and former Lt. Governor for the Pueblo of San Ildefonso (1984-1985 & 1994-95-96). He earned an Associate’s degree in Fine Arts and Museum Studies at the Institute of America Indian Arts in Santa Fe, NM in 1978. Gary worked at the Museum of Indian Arts & Culture and served 25 years as a Museum Specialist/Technician/Native American Liaison at Bandelier National Monument. While at Bandelier, Gary conducted work as a Repatriation Specialist at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian in Washington DC, 2002–2003. Since retiring from the National Park Service, Gary runs a small business of making traditional Pueblo style moccasins.
