Carrie Swan (Needell) grew up in Maine and always loved history and archaeology. She studied Classical archaeology at Dartmouth College (B.A., 2002) and the technology and analysis of archaeological materials at University College London (MSc, 2004). In the winter of 2005, Carrie was a Lab Intern at the Crow Canyon Archaeological Center, and she was a Field Intern in the fall of 2005. She did a distance-learning degree with University of Leicester in archaeology and heritage (M.A., 2005) and received her doctorate in archaeology and the ancient world at Brown University (Ph.D., 2012). She currently lives in Virginia with her family and works at the Chrysler Museum of Art as a curator of glass.
