West-central portion of Nonstructure 601; 1-x-1-m unit 439N 458E.
Selection Criteria
Eleventh 1-x-1-m unit randomly selected for excavation in Nonstructure 601.
Use
Extramural surface composed of undisturbed native sediment from which a pit feature (Feature 1) was excavated.
Abandonment
This surface was no longer used in the Early Pueblo III period when secondary refuse (Nonstructure 601) was deposited above Nonstructure 605.
Postabandonment Process
Secondary refuse (Nonstructure 601) was deposited above Nonstructure 605. Natural wind and water sediments covered Nonstructure 601 deposits.
Dating of Construction
Based on construction dates for surrounding architecture in Architectural Block 600 and on the midden deposits that covered this surface, it is inferred that Nonstructure 605 dates from the Late Pueblo II to the Early Pueblo III period.

Not applicable.
Dating of Abandonment
This surface was no longer used in the Early Pueblo III period when secondary refuse (Nonstructure 601) was deposited above Nonstructure 605.
