Selection Criteria

Twelfth 1-x-1-m unit randomly selected for excavation in Nonstructure 801.

Use

Extramural surface composed of undisturbed native sediment from which a pit feature (Feature 1) was excavated.

Abandonment

This surface was no longer used in the Early Pueblo III period when secondary refuse (Nonstructure 801) was deposited above Nonstructure 806.

Postabandonment Process

Secondary refuse (Nonstructure 801) was deposited above Nonstructure 806. Natural wind and water sediments covered Nonstructure 801 deposits.

Dating of Construction

Based on construction dates for surrounding architecture in Architectural Block 800 and on the midden deposits (Nonstructure 801) it is inferred that Nonstructure 806 dates from the Late Pueblo II to the Early Pueblo III period.

Dating of Remodeling

Not applicable.

Dating of Abandonment

This surface was no longer used in the Early Pueblo III period when secondary refuse (Nonstructure 801) was deposited above Nonstructure 806.

Secondary refuse (Nonstructure 801) was deposited above Nonstructure 806.
