General description
Alignment of stones that is one course high.
Use history
Not clear if this stone alignment is a cultural feature or just a fortuitous deposit of stones; because the stones are at the same elevation and are aligned, they were probably intentionally placed; may have been a retaining wall to collect sediment; built very early in the occupation of the site, as the rock alignment is just above sterile; appears to have been quickly covered by cultural and colluvial deposition.
Associated features
Similar to other low walls and stone alignments in Nst 1 (F-2, F-3, F-7, F-8, F-10, F-11 and F-12) and Nst 4 (F-1 and F-3).
Excavation procedure
Not excavated; only exposed and documented.
Portion excavated
Portion within excavation unit.
Horizontal location
Runs east-west though excavation unit.
Vertical location
Surface 4; which is the base of Stratum 7 in the PD record; the base od Stratum 7 is interpreted as sterile soil, therefore, the wall is believed to have been built on a natural, sterile surface.
Construction
Three large rocks placed in rough alignment to one another; very little effort put into construction.
