General description
Irregular, large pit.
Use history
Informality and irregularity of pit suggest that it was not used or was not used for long; the large size of this pit may suggest that it was excavated to construct a pitstructure and the pitstructure was never finished; no evidence of a floor or floor features were found, however, the fill is similar to pitstructure fill and may indicate this is part of a pitstructure; more excavation would be needed to determine whether or not this is an early pitstructure or a subterranean room connected to the possible kiva north of 1-x-1-m 311N 508E.

Pit was only recognized in profile; not excavated separately; see Map 224 for stratigraphic descriptions of feature fill (Strata B and C).

Horizontal location
With the exception of the northeast corner of 1-x-1-m 311N 508E, this pit encompasses the entire 1-x-1-m unit.
Vertical location
Pit originates from Surface 1, which is the top of a sterile deposit (Stratum D on Map 224).

Pit excavated into sterile deposits (Strata D and E on Map 224); no evidence of formal treatment of walls or bottom of pit.
