Selection Criteria
Ninth 1-x-1-m unit randomly selected for excavation in Nonstructure 801 to sample midden deposits.
Use
Extramural surface composed of undisturbed native sediment from which a pit feature (Feature 1) was excavated.
Abandonment
This surface was no longer used in the Early Pueblo III period when secondary refuse (Nonstructure 801) was deposited above Nonstructure 805.
Postabandonment Process
Secondary refuse (Nonstructure 801) was deposited above Nonstructure 805. Natural wind and water sediments covered Nonstructure 801 deposits.
Dating of Midden
Secondary refuse (Nonstructure 801) was deposited above Nonstructure 805.
