About this Nonstructure

Has Surface
No Masonry

General Location

Northeastern portion of site.

Specific Location

West-central portion of Block 1400; within Nonstructure 1418 deposits (which are within Structure 1416).

Use

This is an extramural surface in secondary refuse deposits (Nonstructure 1418) from which a burial pit (Feature 1) was excavated for the purpose of interring Human remains occurrence 5.

Abandonment

Human remains occurrence 5 was interred with a McElmo Black-on-white or Mesa Verde Black-on-white mug, a corrugated jar, and two McElmo Black-on-white bowls. Based on the funerary objects, this surface was abandoned in the early Pueblo III period.

Postabandonment Process

Secondary refuse (Nonstructure 1418) was deposited over the burial and surface. Natural sediments accumulated over the refuse. The upper portion of the natural sediments were disturbed by plowing.

Dating of Midden
