General Location

Central portion of site.

Specific Location

West-central portion of Block 200; exposed in Backhoe Trench 227.

Selection Criteria

Encountered in Backhoe Trench 227 during testing of remote sensing anomaly that exposed Nonstructure 235 Features 1 and 2.

Use

This is an inferred extramural surface from which a burial pit, Feature 1, was excavated for the interment of Human remains occurrence 4.

Abandonment

This surface was abandoned in the Pueblo III period after the interment of Human remains occurrence 4. No artifacts were left on the surface.

Postabandonment Process

Secondary refuse (Nonstructure 233) was deposited above the surface and burial. Natural sediments accumulated over the refuse. The surface, refuse, and natural sediments were disturbed by plowing.

Dating of Midden

Secondary refuse (Nonstructure 233) was deposited over the burial and over the inferred surface.
